Ex-ISRO chief stresses on perfection at Kalam lecture

SHILLONG: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong, hosted the 4th Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam lecture series delivered by Padma Bhushan K Radhakrishnan, former Chairman of ISRO who was also the chief guest and PLN Raju, Director, NESAC in the presence of guests of honour D Prakash, IG, CRPF and Patricia Mukhim, Editor of The Shillong Times.
The programme began with an inaugural address by Keya Sengupta, Dean (Academics), IIM Shillong followed by an introduction of the keynote speaker by Sanjoy Mukherjee.
Radhakrishnan gave a lecture on ‘India and the New Space Age’ and highlighted Kalam’s motivational influence in urging everyone to work towards perfection. He further spoke at length about the principles applied in ISRO.
This was then followed by the release of the first official newsletter of the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research and Analysis at IIM Shillong.
Formed as part of a tripartite agreement between Ministry of DoNER, North Eastern Council and IIM Shillong, the centre works towards formulating policies for the Northeastern states in handloom, handicraft, horticulture, tourism, logistics and BPO sectors.
