SHILLONG: The United Democratic Party (UDP) Jaiaw constituency has said that granting of 344 trading licenses is only an allegation stating that most of these are for renewal.
In a statement issued here, the UDP has come in defence of Jaiaw MDC Paul Lyngdoh at a time when Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) sent memorandum to him stating that the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has issued 344 trading licenses.
The Jaiaw UDP said that the applications for trading licenses will be scrutinised as per the rules of the KHADC.
