27th National Children’s Science Congress concludes

SHILLONG: The two-day 27th National Children’s Science Congress, 2019, concluded on October 25.
Projects by child scientists from across the state were presented during the two-day event out of which eight projects were selected to represent the state for the national-level scheduled to be held at Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerela from December 27 to 31.
The child scientists who have been chosen to represent the state are Daphiniewkor Wahlang and Naa-Mebankhraw Lyngkhoi from Anderson Higher Secondary School, Upper New Nongstoin, Korsame Lathong and Paialang Manar from North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Jowai, Doansa Ch. Marak and Dome Salginchi Ch Momin from St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, West Garo Hills, Banmaitphang Muktieh and Omilisha Nongpoh from Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya, Niangbari, Mebanpyndap Iawphniaw and Damutlang Lyngdoh from Little Star Higher Secondary School, Mawkyrwat, Abanggi Chue Ch Marak and S John Felix Majaw from Tura Public School, Rongram, Jennyzia Shylla and Felicia Dan from Jaintia Higher Secondary School, Thadlaskein; and Pushpa Chettry and Bandana Rai from Sacred Heart Secondary School, Lamyrsiang, Saipung
Naa-Mebankhraw Lyngkhoi & Paialang Manar will also participate in the upcoming Indian Science Congress scheduled to be held from January 3 to 7 at the University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK Campus in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The science congress was inaugurated CP Gotmare, Secretary of Planning in the presence of Jayanta Kr. Sarma, member of the National Academic Committee, NCSC, M Dey, Principal of Shillong College and AS Suting, officer on special Duty, SCSTE.
The felicitation of meritorious students who secured the highest marks in science and mathematics in the SSLC and HSSLC examination, 2019 was also held during the inaugural function.
