SHILLONG: An FIR was filed against a man after the death of his wife identified as Melcica Myrshiang in a city hospital.
According to the FIR, Myrshiang, hailing from Mawpat, was admitted to Shillong Civil Hospital with burn injuries on October 11, whereas her husband Francis Dkhar took her to the hospital only on October 14 and she died on November 4.
Family members of Myrshiang suspect foul play into the incident as they were not informed on time by the husband and moreover, he had told the police that an almirah fell on her.
Though the family insisted for postmortem, the husband did not want it but it was carried out later.
When contacted, police said that the matter is under investigation and they are taking the help of Forensic Science Laboratory.
The victim has one and a half year old child.
