SHILLONG: The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) state youth wing criticised the state government departments for resorting to favouritism and nepotism in job appointments.
In a statement issued here, the KHNAM youth president, Thomas Passah claimed that nepotism and favouritism abound in appointment of government jobs. He said the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) advertised the post of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), one post of Project Scientist (Bio-Resources), two posts of Technical Assistant (Bio Resources), three posts of Field Assistant (Bio-Resources), two posts of Technical Assistant (Green Energy) and three posts of Field Assistant (Green Energy).
As per the notification, applicants were informed that the last date to submit the applications is November 15. However, KHNAM claimed that some applicants were told that the last date has been dropped to November 13 ) although no formal public announcement was made except in the office notice board.
Passah went on to say that there is a hidden motive which is favourtism and nepotism. He went on to add that the advertisement did not consider the Reservation Policy of 1972.
