Police arrest 3 more African nationals in EJH

SHILLONG: East Jaintia Hills Police have arrested three more African nationals recently as the number of attempts by foreign nationals to enter the country illegally rise alarmingly.
The district SP, Vivekananda Singh, informed that on November 15 around 12.30 am, three African nationals were detected by Ratacherra CP staff while travelling in a night super bus (AS-01-KC-0299) from Agartala to Guwahati.
They were detained for interrogation but since they could not produce valid documents to support their entry into India, they were arrested.
In this connection, a case has been registered at Lumshnong PS and an investigation has been launched into the matter.
With these arrests, East Jaintia Hills Police have arrested a total of twenty-two foreign nationals in the past two months alone.
Heroin seized
Meanwhile, on Monday, the ANTF intercepted one person identified as Amos Malang and recovered 0.46 grams of suspected heroin and empty vials from his possession. In this connection, a case was registered at Khliehriat PS.
