SHILLONG: Working president of NPP youth wing, Nickey Nongkhlaw, has criticised Congress youth leader Richard Marak for stating that MDA is corrupt and incompetent.
In a statement on Tuesday, Nongkhlaw said Congress party should very well remember that people of the state and the country have repeatedly rejected them because of their “competency” of taking corruption to highest levels. The number of scams engineered by them is still very fresh in public memory and it goes without saying that this will be their lasting legacy, Nongkhlaw said.
On the issue of chief minister breaking protocol by meeting the Minister of State (MoS) for Finance, Anurag Thakur, Nongkhlaw said Richard Marak should know that the chief minister does not need lessons on protocol or how to conduct himself.
“Unlike Mr. Richard Marak’s leader, Mr. Conrad Sangma is not dictatorial and he does not command or dictate people with a single phone call as advised by Mr. Marak”, Nongkhlaw said.
Commenting on the financial crisis, the NPP leader said that the bulk of the problems inherited by the MDA government is due to the corruption and mismanagement by the previous Congress government.
