Chief secy meets officials in WKH

NONGSTOIN: As part of his state tour, PS Thangkhiew, Chief Secretary of Meghalaya accompanied by Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya DP Wahlang met the district and sub-divisional administration of West Khasi Hills in the Circuit House, Nongstoin on Tuesday.
During his informal interactions with the government officials, Thangkhiew informed that Aadhaar number has become mandatory for all government employees and beneficiaries. He emphasised on the importance of two paramount issues of the country implemented by the state functionaries which is Aadhaar enrollment and census.
He informed that enrollment for Aadhaar number, which was previously done by private vendors, has been taken over by the state government implemented through the deputy commissioners of all districts. He said that the state government is dependent on Centre with regard to payment of salary and implementation of the state plan. Fund flows from the central government will lie on the census of the state, he added.
