BSF swachhta pakhwada under way
SHILLONG: The Border Security Force (BSF) initiated a fortnight-long Swachhta Pakhwada action plan from December 1 to focus on the importance of cleanliness as a pledge-taking ceremony was organised at BSF HQ, Umpling and at all sector HQs and units under Meghalaya Ftr. The BSF has planned an intensive cleaning and awareness drive at campuses, public places as well as villages along the international border by way of educating local population specially youth to accomplish the vision of Swachh Bharat.

Report on minor minerals available
SHILLONG: M War Nongbri, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills-cum-chairperson of District Level Task Force Committee, has informed that the Draft District Survey Report of East Khasi Hills for minor minerals and for sand/river bed mining under Meghalaya Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2016 (MMMCR) is available in the DC’s office, Divisional Forest Officer, East Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi (T) Division, Sub-Divisional Officer (C) Sohra Civil Sub-Division, Sohra and Sub-Divisional Officer (C) Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, Pynursla and all block development offices under East Khasi Hills. Interested parties may submit their views/comments thereon in their respectively locations on or before December 23, she further informed.

Garo group forms new branch
SHILLONG: The A.chik Mahindra Pik-up Union (AMPU), West Garo Hills Region has set up its branch called the A.chik Mahindra Pik-up Union, Damal A.sim branch at Dadenggre, WGH, a release issued here informed. The first office bearers of the Damal A.sim branch are Shonsing B Marak (president), Penison Sangma (vice president), Perenson A Sangma (Secretary), Pojeng Marak (joint secretary), Leven B Marak (accountant), Tonickson B Marak (treasurer) and other executive members.

Public hearing on IMFL retail shop
WILLIAMNAGAR: The Superintendent of Excise, East Garo Hills, will conduct public hearing in connection with the opening of a new IMFL retail shop at Super Market, Williamnagar on December 7 at 10 am. The official communiqué issued in this regard by the Inspector of Excise, Russel R Marak stated that Alen Cyril Ch Marak of Nengsanggre, Williamnagar, will be opening the new retail shop and requested the interested parties and individuals to attend the hearing.
