SHILLONG: Meghalaya were defeated by 284 runs in their U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy match by Odisha in Mangaldai, Assam, on Friday. Odisha made 154 all out after they were put in to bat first, with Mukesh Ray (5/47) and Arbin Singh (4/26) being the most successful Meghalaya bowlers. Meghalaya were then dismissed for 95 early on the second day yesterday with Yogesh Tiwari top-scoring with 30 and Anish Charak producing 28. Odisha thus led by 59 going into their second innings where, in complete contrast to their first, they found batting more easy and made 317 all out, with Arbin taking another four-wicket haul (4/78; match figures of 8/104) and Charak 4/51. Meghalaya were thus set a target of 377 to win but were skittled for under 100 again, finishing with 92 on the board. Aditya Verma top-scored with 25 runs.
