SHILLONG: All Meghalaya Labour Association has joined others demanding Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Meghalaya.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, president of the association Danny Dunai said the indigenous communities have been facing problems in terms of employment currently and with the settlement of outsiders, it will be difficult to get jobs as there will be stiff competition.
“Because of this, we are tightening the work culture of the people and make them disciplined and regular in their work. It is time that our people should be more responsible and improve their work culture,” Dunai had said.
Pointing out that the demand for ILP should be consistent and persistent Dunai said that the people of the state should not budge from their demand of ILP while expressing concern that there were demands in the past which were not fruitful.
“We have to move forward with the demand. It should not go in vain this time,” he said.
