Draft electoral roll released in state districts

SHILLONG/MAWKYRWAT/ NONGSTOIN: The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) published the draft photo electoral roll for 35-Ranikor and 36-Mawkyrwat as well as 30-Mairang (ST) and 31-Mawthadraishan (ST) Assembly Constituencies.
A copy of the electoral roll is available for inspection at the office of the ERO of 30-Mairang (ST) and 31-Mawthadraishan (ST) during office hours and at all polling stations from December 16 to January 15 next year.
Further, the copies of the draft roll is available for inspection at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills district, the appointed Booth Level Officers in respective designated locations and office of the Block Development Officer, Mawkyrwat C&RD Block during office hours for 36-Mawkyrwat and at the South West Khasi Hills DC’s office, the appointed BLOs and at the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Ranikor Civil Sub-Division during office hours for 35-Ranikor.
The qualifying date for the preparation of the electoral roll is January 1, 2020.
“With reference to the qualifying date, any claim for inclusion of a name in the roll or any objection to the inclusion of a name or any objection to particulars in any entry, it should be lodged on or before January 15, 2020 in Form 6, 6A, 7, 8, 8A as may appropriately be the case,” the ERO said, adding that every such claims and objections should either be presented or send by post to the above mentioned offices.
WKH voters roll
The Draft Electoral Roll in West Khasi Hills was released by PD Sangma in-charge District Election Officer (DEO) West Khasi Hills in a meeting held at the Conference Hall of DC’s office, Nongstoin.
The draft electoral roll was released for 32-Nongstoin, 33-Rambrai Jyrngam and 34-Mawshynrut constituencies. The hard and soft copy of the draft electoral roll was handed over to the representatives of various recognised political parties by PD Sangma in-charge DEO, CP Mawkon, ARO and PK Sangma EAC Mawshynrut, in a programme presided over by M Diengdoh, EAC in-charge of election, Nongstoin.
