Khelo India in Guwahati to be bigger: CEO

GUWAHATI: The Khelo India 2020 edition here next month will witness the biggest number of participants in a multi-disciplinary sports event in the country.
Addressing the media here on Thursday evening, Khelo India chief executive officer Avinash Joshi said the event to be held as scheduled from January 9 to 22, would feature as many as 10,000 athletes, officials, support staff and volunteers.
Athletes from 28 states and nine Union Territories will take part in the event.
The Khelo India CEO further informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was expected to inaugurate the event at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium at Sarusajai here on January 9, 2019.
