Rotary Club extends help to needy

SHILLONG: The Rotary Club of Shillong, under its president Rtn David Umdor and in a move to extend help to the needy, provided 200 blankets to the underprivileged people, some of whom are homeless and sleep on the streets, at the Rilbong Community Hall on Friday.
The past District Governor Rtn Manas Chaudhury was the chief guest at the function. The blankets were sponsored by the rotarians of the Club.
On the same day, the Club gifted mobility aids – six wheel chairs, ten three-sided walkers and ten elbow strap crutches to H Gordon Robert Hospital, where Chaudhury was the chief guest on the occasion.
The aids were handed over to the Medical Superintendent Dr R Nongrum in the presence of other officials of the hospital and nurses.
