Umpteen reasons are there for a party like BJP to panic. The facade of chivalry that they wear as a cover is only meant for hiding their internal fear and related worries. Who among those in the RSS Parivar has expected such a people’s verdict in Jharkhand? In the 81 seats Assembly, BJP’s target was to win at least 65. But people gave them only 25. It was only a couple of weeks back that the BJP had to swallow a convincing defeat after staging a midnight drama, where the office of the Governor was used as a BJP office! These electoral debacles are definite pointers to the developing political scenario. It is partly the reflection of the socio-economic crisis engulfing the country. In 2019 May during the parliamentary polls, BJP was at the zenith of its victory trail. Now, within months they are witnessing the beginning of their end where state after state, the party of the extreme right faces formidable challenge. The RSS-BJP duo understand very well that the fortress is weakened. In desperation, the government at the centre let loose the police force in a typical fascist style. The effort was to brutally suppress the massive opposition against the divisive stance of the RSS-BJP regime. Yet the waves of protest went beyond the state apparatus, all over the country as we see in Delhi, UP and other states. In Karnataka, after resorting to firing and killings in Mangalore, they have turned to arson in Bangalore. In the state capital their target was S V Ghate Bhavan, the state headquarters of CPI. In the past midnight hours of December 24-25, the RSS – BJP goons entered the premises and set ablaze the party office. The hall in memory of veteran Communist leader MS Krishnan was partially burnt and six motor bikes parked there were ruined by fire. This act also speaks a lot about the fascist character of BJP. It reminds one of the Reichstag fire engineered by HitIer in Germany. The Bangalore arson by the RSS is nothing but their response of revenge against the CPI, for its valiant and peaceful protest organized in Mangalore on December 21. On that day, when the whole city was under curfew and Yediyurappa was in the city, it was the CPI that came out defying the prohibitory orders to build confidence among the masses. Volunteers were only in small number, but the impact it made on the masses was much bigger. Soon after, there were protests triggering in Karnataka, Kerala and elsewhere. It was despair that led RSS-BJP to the cowardly act of arson. Needless to say, such acts can never deter the communists. They are tempered through mass struggles unleashed in defense of our composite culture, secularism and rights of the deprived. Also the massive involvement of youth, especially the students was a welcome surprise. University campuses suddenly became citadels of resistance. Young girls and boys took to streets, braving all sorts of repressive measures. They correctly grasped the ideology and politics of the contemporary times and dedicated themselves to the struggle for secularism and democracy. It was they who first came out for the struggle of resistance against the Citizenship Amendment Act. They studied the treacherous, anti-national pit falls hidden in the act. They alerted the nation about the dangers; the act causes for the unity and integrity of India. The fundamental question is whether religion be the basis of our nation. The protagonists of CAA hide the fact that it is the prelude to the nationwide NRC. It aims to classify the citizens on the basis of religion. The inevitable casualty of this move will be the secular fabric of India. Without secularism this great nation cannot exist as one and develop an inch forward. That is why the people of India question the concept and intentions behind these anti people and anti- Constitution moves. The citizens of India have come to understand that the RSS controlled government see the CAA-NRC as part of their ideological goal to make the country viable to the concept of ‘religion of the nation’. It stands diametrically in contrast with India’s philosophy of Unity in Diversity. The vibrance of the resistance emerge from this understanding; not from their clothes as stated by the PM. The struggles of the people have compelled even the PM to contradict his own Home Minister. It has its own impact on electoral politics too. It will grow further. No amount of torture or arson will be able to crush the urge and their love for their country and future.(IPA Service)ReplyForward
