State men’s teams’ last matches for the year

SHILLONG: Meghalaya men’s cricket teams began their final matches of 2019, with the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy and U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy teams getting their fixtures started on Friday and the Ranji Trophy side beginning their game on Thursday.
In Mangaldai, Assam, Chandigarh won the toss and opted to bat first in the Ranji contest and finally declared on 455/9.
At stumps on the second day Meghalaya were placed at 15/1.
Meghalaya were made to toil hard in the field and the bowlers with the best figures were Aditya Singhania (2/103) and guest-professional Sanjay Yadav (2/127). Chengkam Sangma (1/28), Dipu Sangma (1/34), Abhay Negi (1/63) and Akash Kumar (1/71) were the other wicket-takers.
In Patna Meghalaya won the toss and chose to field first and on the first day today Bihar finished on 284/5 at stumps in their Col CK Nayudu Trophy game. Lokesh Turaha (2/63) returned the best figures, while there was also success for Elchiang Ch Momin (1/52), Roshan Warbah (1/56) and Anish Charak (1/77).
Finally, in the Cooch Behar Trophy match between Meghalaya and Goa in Tezpur, Goa won the toss and put Meghalaya in to bat first and bowled them out for just 154. Bibek was the top scorer for Meghalaya with 47.
Goa then made it to 126/5 by stumps, with Aryan Borah claiming 3/29 for Meghalaya.
Abhishek Kumar and Sudhir Sahani returned identical figures of 1/20.
