SHILLONG: The Shillong Khasi Jaintia Church Leaders Forum (SKJCLF), in a meeting held at PCI Hall, Central Ward Shillong, on Monday, decided to meet Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and other state leaders to pray with them for peace and harmony as well as development of the state and its people. The forum, since its inception in the year 2000, has received recognition from the government on matters contributing to peace and harmony in the state. The forum organised different programmes in the past where various Christian groups and churches had participated discussed on issues affecting Christian life and faith.
With deep respect, the meeting remembered its past office bearers including the Late Archbishop Dominic Jala, who was the last president of the forum, (Late) Rev. RJ Skinner, (Late) Rev. HM Rapthap, (Late) K Chyrmang and others.
The forum, in the meeting, elected Most Rev. P Lyngdoh as its president and Rev. EH Kharkongor as secretary. The forum resolved to go forward and strive to achieve the aims and objectives laid down since its beginning.
Lastly, the forum has conveyed New Year wishes to all Christians and citizens of the state and country.
The meeting was presided over by Most Rev. P Lyngdoh and others present in the meeting included Rev. ER Tongper, Rev. L Ryntathiang, Rev. HM Wahlang, Fr. Barnes Mawrie, Rev. B Dunai, Apostle RR Khongkrom, RO Wahlang, Fr. G Nongneng, Fr. Felix Lyngkhoi, BW Nongbri, Rev. SC Reade and Rev. EH Kharkongor.
