SHILLONG: Two shops were gutted in a major fire at Luckier road  on Saturday at around 1.30 am.

Though the cause of the fire is not known, residents suspect that the fire may have started from the bonfire nearby as people often light fire to warm themselves in the winter.

No casualty was reported and many fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire.
