Friendly football match

Nongpoh: As part of promoting the spirit of Fit India Movement, a friendly football match between the Police officers of Ri Bhoi District led by VDS Rymbai, DSP Headquarter against the Press fraternity of Ri Bhoi District led by Cornelius Laloo was held on Saturday at NSCA Mini Stadium, Pahamsyiem. The match ended in a draw at full time where both teams scored 3 goals each, prompting the referee to call for a tie-breaker to decide the winner. It was during the tie-breaker that the team of the police officers managed to break the deadlock by scoring 3-2 goals against the Press fraternity thereby winning the match. A Trophy and cash prize donated by the local legislator of Nongpoh was also awarded to winning team.
