SHILLONG: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has informed that double charge will be imposed for vehicles which enter toll plazas without FASTag from January 15.
In a statement, Alok Kumar, Regional Officer, NHAI based in Guwahati, said cash transaction will be discontinued from January 14.
He said monthly and daily passes will be given to FASTtag holders only.
The official said if there is less balance, the trucks and commercial vehicles will be blacklisted. “So there is a need to link FASTtag with bank accounts”, he said. The official also added that the vehicle owners should have sufficient balance in their accounts.
