Manhandled
Ballickha Ch Sangma lodged a complaint that on January 7, around 5.30 pm, Trainingbirth Sangma, Pobendro Sangma, Garat Sangma, Archana Ch Marak, Apot Marak and others, entered her mother’s house at Tokpara village, West Garo Hills and manhandled her husband and one person identified as Hussain.

Ganja in parcels
Donna Rynjah lodged a complaint that on January 6, three speed posts were booked from Madanrting Post Office, Shillong and sent by one Subir Chakma of Nongthymmai. The Speed Post branch in Shillong GPO found the parcels suspicious and opened the same in front of police, after which the contents were tested and found to be ‘ganja’.

Burglary
Kabita Kumari lodged a complaint that on October 9, 2019, while she was out of station, miscreants stole two mobile phones from her residence at Dum Dum, Nongthymmai.

Fraud
On January 2, Rajender Kumar lodged a complaint that on June 23, 2017, he noticed an advertisement in a local newspaper, regarding MBBS courses and contacted the Director of Bangalore Group of Institution viz., Mahesh Mohan, who asked him to deposit Rs. 1 lakh as booking admission and later he also demanded to submit a blank cheque to him. Sensing doubt on the authenticity of the Institution, the complainant informed the bank to freeze any cheque. On February 4 & 15, 2019, Mahesh Mohan attempted to encash two cheques for Rs. 9 lakh each, but failed to do so as the bank authorities did not allow the transactions.
Jitendra Kumar Singh lodged a complaint that on November 6, 2019, he entered into an agreement with one Ravi Ray of Pynthorbah, Block-I, Shillong, who also drives the complainant’s vehicle (ML-05N-6435) for commercial purpose. During the course of business, Ravi owed the complainant Rs. 22,500 and agreed to pay the amount in two installments. However, despite several requests by the complainant, Ravi Ray failed to pay the amount, till date.
Rajiv Mittal lodged a complaint that on January 5, around 9.30 pm, he put an advertisement to sell his Casio keyboard in OLX. Following this, one Vikas, who reportedly identified that he is serving in the Indian Army, sent the image of his Paytm A/C via Whatsapp to the complainant and also requested him to open his A/C and scan the same, after which Rs. 10,000 was transferred from the A/C of the complainant to the A/C linked with the Paytm and UPI of the above noted person.

Power cables stolen
Donush Siangshai lodged a complaint that on January 7, circa 6 pm, miscreants stole huge quantity of power cables from a construction site at Langkyrding, Nongmensong.

Theft
Pynsuk Myrthong lodged a complaint that on January 6, miscreants stole forty-nine batteries from Airtel tower at Dongshilling and Nongtrai, Mawsynram, East Khasi Hills.
