NONGPOH: As many as eight people were injured when a tourist sumo overturned at Pahamriniai village in Ri Bhoi district on Sunday.
The sumo bearing registration number ML05 M8439 was heading towards Guwahati from Shillong. However, on reaching Pahamriniai, one of its tyres exploded causing the vehicle to hit the median divider and it overturned.
The injured persons were immediately taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
