SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (roads) Prestone Tynsong has decided to follow up on many road schemes to ease traffic congestion in the city.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Tynsong said that the government is planning to widen the road leading to new Shillong Township and for this, the preparatory work is on.
Another road project is from Laitkor to Laitlyngkot which will ease the traffic congestion in the city as the passengers from Jaintia Hills need not come to Shillong once the road is improved.
The third project is the improvement of road from Mawlai bypass to Mawroh.
Besides, Tynsong said the project related to widening of road from Umshyrpi to Dawki is on right track.
