Weaving centre inaugurated

Nongpoh: The local legislator of Nongpoh constituency Mayralborn Syiem on Tuesday inaugurated a weaving centre at Mawlong Nongtluh constructed by the Society for Action in Community Health (SACH) at an amount of Rs 7 lakh.
Speaking at the programme, Syiem lauded the initiative taken by the SACH while hoping that the centre will go a long way in promoting the traditional weaving of the area and will also boost the income of the people.
He also urged the women of the area to preserve such organic traditional weaving, which is very much demanded in the market.
He also stressed that the availability of modern technology in this centre is another added advantage, adding that “the women of the area should take advantage to boost the productions and income”.
