Non-availability of ambulance irks HANM

NONGSTOIN: The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) Nongstoin circle met the District Medical & Health Officer (DM&HO) West Khasi Hills on Thursday and demanded to increase the ambulance service in Nongstoin Civil Hospital.
President of HANM, Nongstoin circle, Khlainbor Thongni spoke to media persons and said that after a complaint lodged by the people of Nongstoin regarding the non-availability of ambulance in Civil Hospital, they carried out an inspection and found out that there is no ambulance service stationed in the hospital.
HANM shot a complaint letter to the DM&HO to increase the ambulance service as per the norms of Civil Hospital so that the people of Nongstoin will receive better care from it.
Khlainbor also demanded that the mobile medical unit should be sent and stationed at Civil Hospital.
HANM also demanded to provide one more 108 ambulance since the district has only one at present. The HANM president also assured the people of Nongstoin that they will follow up the matter until the health department fulfils their demand.
