SHILLONG: City police have made foolproof security arrangements to ensure Republic Day is celebrated peacefully.
A police official here on Friday said that arrangements were in place for peaceful celebration of Republic Day despite boycott calls by several groups.
He also urged people to come out in large numbers and participate in the celebrations. When asked if police have received any inputs about any threats, he replied in the negative adding the “inputs” are only in the social media.
The district police is also coordinating with the BSF to ensure proper vigil in the border areas.
