SHILLONG: The state is set to celebrate the 71st Republic Day on Sunday with the police putting in place a foolproof security to ensure the day passes off peacefully. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will unfurl the Tricolour at Polo Second Ground.
Cabinet ministers will do the honours at various district headquarters. Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, said that the government has already instructed the forces to be alert.
