Dorbar Shnong bans activities at Shnongpdeng on Feb 8, 9

SHILLONG: The general secretary of Dorbar Shnong Shnongpdeng, Lurman B Talang has imposed a restriction on entering Shnongpdeng village and several other activities which include parking and watersports, on February 8 and 9, in view of a church programme.
In a press communiqué, Talang said that in view of the occasion of War Jaintia Presbytery, which will be held at Shnongpdeng village from February 7 to 9, the local executive committee of Dorbar Shnong, Shnongpdeng has directed the Tourism section of the village (STDS) to temporarily close all adventure activities from February 8 to 9 starting 4 pm.
Further, the village authority has also informed all the vehicles (including tourists’), who will be entering Shnongpdeng village on February 8 and 9, that all the parking areas in and around Shnongpdeng has to be evacuated for 31 hours from 4 pm on February 8.
All parking areas of the Shnongpdeng village have been reserved for the large number of vehicles that will be coming to the War Jaintia Presbytery on the said dates.
The village council of Shnongpdeng has requested all tourists and visitors to cooperate with the regulations which will be implemented on the said date and time.
