Pipe guns recovered
On January 22, around 10 pm, acting on inputs, police conducted search operation in and around Rongbo village, North Garo Hills and recovered two country-made pipe guns from the betel nut garden of Terry Sangma.

Drugs seized
On January 29, around 2 pm, acting on inputs that some persons in a local taxi (ML-05E-2916) are suspected to be carrying drugs, police intercepted the vehicle and apprehended one Gautum Dey (26) of Bishnupur, Shillong, and the driver Siddhart Deb (24) of Kench’s Trace, Shillong. However, two persons managed to escape. Police also recovered suspected drugs weighing around 30 grams.

Misappropriation
Ricky Nongkynrih of Jio Point Reliance, Jio Infocom, Shillong, lodged a complaint that one Ajit Baisnab, Jio Point manager, misappropriated Rs 1,99,000. Later, he agreed to pay the money; however, till date the accused has paid only Rs 50,000 and the remaining amount is yet to be paid.

Accident kills cattle
AN Biswas, SI, 97 Bn., BSF, MCP commander, Sonapur Bridge, East Jainita Hills, lodged a complaint that on January 28, one truck (HR-55M-9737) loaded with nineteen heads of cattle suspected to be stolen and meant for smuggling to Bangladesh, met with an accident at Sonapur Bridge. As a result, eleven head of cattle died at the spot.
