New Assembly building by 2022: Ymbon

SHILLONG: PWD (Buildings) Minister Comingone Ymbon on Saturday said construction of the permanent building for the State Legislative Assembly will be completed by 2022.
Earlier, the target to commission the project was 2023. Ymbon said the way work is going on, he is confident that the construction will be completed before time.
“The work is very fast there and we are happy with the progress,” he said.
Informing that the physical progress of the project is more than 30 per cent, he added that the government is keen to complete the project at the earliest as it is about the prestige of the state. “The government is managing resources for the project from here and there,” he added. The firm was given 30 months to complete the project and the cost is Rs 127 crore.
