The state government has declared February 28 as paid holiday to all public/private commercial and industrial enterprise (including shops and factories) falling under the Langrin District Council Constituency of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council in South West Khasi Hills to enable the voters of the aforesaid District Council Constituency to exercise their franchise.

Rice released
The West Garo Hills DC (Supply) has informed that PHH and AAY rice for beneficiaries for the month of February in respect of Tura urban and rural based Fair Price shops has been released. The Fair Price Shop dealers are directed to issue rice as per the government prescribed scale of 5 kg per head per month for PHH beneficiaries and 35 kg per card per month for AAY beneficiaries at Rs 3 per Kg under NFSA, 2013.
The DC (Supply), West Jaintia Hills, Jowai has informed that rice for the month of February has been released and is available from all F.P Shop.
