SHILLONG: Mawsynram MLA HM Shangpliang assured farmers to take up their grievances in the Assembly.
The assurance came after he paid a visit to Iewduh, here, to take stock of their grievances.
Shangpliang was informed that the farmers are being exploited by the traders. Besides, there is no cold storage or godown facility and the problem of congestion.He said that the office of Hima Mylliem should look into the sanitation and cleanliness of Iewduh as the people are trading in unhygienic conditions.
Shangpliang said that land should be allotted to farmers to enable them to trade and where cold storage and godown will also be set up.
