Suspected murder in EJH

SHILLONG: The East Jaintia Hills police issued a murder with regard to the recovery of a body, which was found lying at Mynkre village of the district on February 11.
“We have registered a murder case since we notice there were injuries on the body of deceased,” the East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivekananda Singh said on Thursday, adding that the body is yet to be identified. In this regard, a look out notice for the identification of the deceased was also issued.
According to the SP, the identification of the body is very crucial for the investigation to proceed ahead.
It may be mentioned that the Rangbah Shnong of Mynkre village, East Jaintia Hills, on February 11, had lodged an FIR that an unidentified body was found lying in the village.
During preliminary enquiry, it transpired that the deceased was murdered by miscreants. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver sent to CHC Khliehriat for post-mortem examination.
