Nongpoh group to battle influx

NONGPOH: The newly-elected office bearers of Seng Samla of Nongpoh Pyllun (SSNP) has vowed to fight against influx in Nongpoh area as an alternative to the delaying policy of the central government in implementing Inner Line Permit in the state.
The newly-elected President of the SSNP, Anthony Suchiang, General Secretary, Herroi Nongrum, along with other members said this during the confirmation programme by the village Durbar to the newly-elected office bearers at Nongpoh recently.
“As the new body of the youths of Nongpoh area, we have decided to take up various issues concerning the welfare and development of the people of the area during our tenure. However, our top priorities will be to check influx and eradicate all kinds of anti-social activities,” the organisation said.
As Nongpoh is growing at a fast pace and consists of several localities, the leaders said that it is high time that they should unite and work together as one and live in harmony so that progress and development can be focused in the area.Further, they also issued a stern warning against the house owners who do not verify the documents of their tenants properly.
