SHILLONG: Phase 11 of The Shillong Times led Operation Clean-up will be undertaking a cleaning drive cum awareness campaign in the Golf Links area at 7.30 am on Saturday.
The areas to be tackled include the Golf Course and its surroundings, the areas leading to the Police Guest House and beyond and the areas near the Police Training Centre. The road leading towards Belmont and Shyiap will also be taken up.
The team comprises students of Kiddies Corner, KL Bajoria College, Bethany Society, Women’s College, and NGOs comprising MakeSomeoneSmile, The Green Signal, Colonel Sishupal Security Company (CSSC), Team Jiva and City Hut Dhaba, Hotel Tripura Castle amongst others.
Operation Clean-Up invites all the residents of Golf Links area including the local Dorbar Shnong and young people to join them.
Health Minister AL Hek, Minister, who is also the MLA of the area will join the clean-up team.
