Holiday
The Chief Inspector of Boilers and Factories, Meghalaya has directed all factory owners in the state to declare weekly holiday in their respective units on the date of poll i.e February 28 instead of the first day of the week as provided under Section 52 of the Factories Act, 1948 to enable the voters of Langrin District Council Constituency in South West Khasi Hills District to exercise their franchise in connection to the Bye Election, 2020 to the KHADC.

CME programme
One-day CME programme will be organised by the Department on Oral Cancer at the Conference Hall of the Hospital on Saturday. Dr. Ashok Kumar Das and Dr. Anupam Das from Dr. B. Boroah Cancer Institute, Guwahati along with other Oncologists & ENT Specialist from Shillong will attend the CME.

Awareness programme
The NSS, Seng Khasi College organised an HIV/AIDS awareness programme on its campus on Friday. More than 200 students of the college attended the programme. The programme ended with students and teachers shouting the slogan ‘Be aware, be safe’.

Meeting

The East Garo Hills Fisheries Department will organise a Aqua-Fest 2019-2020 at Memo Lake in Bolkinggre village under Samanda C&RD Block on February 26.
