New Delhi: Rajabala MLA, Azad Zaman, on Friday received the Adarsh Yuva Vidayak Samman (Model Young MLA Honour) during the four-day Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad here.
Azad was selected for the award from the state because of his contributions to the society and proactive role in the state.
The MLA from Rajabala said that role of students and youth is very important in future politics of India.
“Politicians of the country have to come from the educational and youth organisations,” he added.
The Sansad honoured the parliamentarians and politicians, who have excelled across all party lines in their respective fields. They include the ideal chief ministers, legislative assembly speakers, legislative council chairmen, youth legislators and youth sarpanch.
The four-day Sansad, which kick-started on Thursday, saw noted legislators and society icons including Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, educationists, speakers of state assemblies, and union ministers. Spiritual leaders like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Baba Ramdev Kamlesh Patel and Sister Shivani also addressed the delegates and interacted with the awardees.
Participations had the opportunity to interact with a Nobel laureate, MPs, ministers and speakers of assembly of various states, journalists, union ministers, governors, chief ministers, entrepreneurs, and many such eminent personalities.
There are around 33 lakh elected representative in the country from Panchayat to Parliament and the institute tries to make these students understand the working style. The Sansad included eight sessions, around a diverse range of topics such as Caste to Class or Class to Caste, Combating Terrorism, Insurgency and Naxalism, the five-trillion economy and a Mirror to India’s Last Seven Decades.
