SHILLONG: An alert has been sounded on possibility of occurrence of thunderstorm along with lightning at isolated places in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya on Thursday (February 27).
In an advisory issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner and CEO (DDMA), East Khasi Hills District, people have been asked to take extra care to avoid any untoward incidents by ensuring safe keeping of all objects such as lumber piles, loose tin sheets, loose bricks, garbage bins, sign boards etc. which may be blown away in strong wind.
People have been further advised to switch off all electrical appliances like electric iron, mobile charger, television set etc., if the lightning persists.
