Cabinet approves new Civil Services GPF rules

SHILLONG: The State Cabinet has repealed the Meghalaya Civil Service General Provident Fund Rules, 1985 and approved the new Meghalaya Civil Service General Provident Fund Rules, 2020.
MDA spokesperson James Sangma said the decision was taken based on the recommendation of the report submitted by the Administrative Rules and Regulations Revision Advisory Committee following a review of the Meghalaya Civil Service GPF Rules, 1985.
The Rules were amendment from time to time but the government felt the need to have a comprehensive review of the rules to harmonise it with central rules and changing requirement of the government servants and the task was referred to the Administrative Rules and Regulations Revision Advisory Committee.
