Sngap Syiem College will organise a national seminar on ‘Transforming Rural India: Scope and Challenge’ on March 26-27. Interest research scholars, academicians, teachers, students, policy makers are requested to visit the college website and submit their abstract and full paper on or before March 16.

The Shillong Times first appeared as a tabloid weekly on 10th August 1945 under the editorship of Late Sudhindra Bhusan Chaudhuri. In 1958 it was converted to a Daily. Owing to financial constraints, within six months it reverted back to a weekly.
