TURA: Police have confirmed that rape was the motive for the murder of an eight-year-old girl at Nongalbibra in South Garo Hills on Friday.
The body of the minor girl was found on Friday by locals who immediately alerted the police. After preliminary investigations, police were also able to detain a suspect and after questioning him placed him under arrest the same night.
A reliable police source on Sunday informed that further investigation was on into the case.
“We have been able to confirm that rape was the motive for the murder. A suspect has also been arrested and investigation is continuing,” the police source said.
