People fined for violating lockdown

NONGPOH: Several vehicles have been found violating lockdown in Ri Bhoi district and the police imposed fine to the violators.
On Friday, checking was conducted at NH-6 near Mawdiangum in the district where several vehicles plying without valid passes were fined including a Bolero belonging to a government official while a Sumo carrying policemen was fined for driving on the wrong side of the road.
While contacting, DSP Traffic, Orville Massar informed that more than Rs. 15000 has been collected through fines.
Massar urged the public to stay at home and to follow the order issued by the government unless there is an emergency.
