On Saturday, the Association with the support of Shillong Matri Sangha, served lunch to the slum-dwellers near Ajmera Marble building in the city.
Advocate Sujit Dey, who is part of the Association, said that the Central Puja Committee, Rotary Club of Shillong and others should also come forward to assist the needy in terms of providing food to the hungry.
“We are carrying out our humble efforts with the contribution from the members of the association and also from donations from well-wishers,” Dey said.
Earlier, the association had served food to the relief camps in Polo Grounds and the people of Jhalupara and Pynthorumkhrah.
