Boro unhappy with govt

SHILLONG: Former Minister and BJP leader KC Boro has expressed concern over the apathy of the state government while the Centre has already given allotment for relief.
In a statement on Wednesday, Boro said people, especially the poor, are crying for government relief during lockdown.
“But it is really surprising and unfortunate that till date our state government has not given any relief although the central government has already given the allotment to the state at the right time”, Boro said.
The big state like Assam, with a population of more than 3.5 crore, has already given relief to the public. But Meghalaya, a small state with a total population of less than 35 lakh, is yet to provide relief, he added.
Advocating timely disbursement of relief to the people, the BJP leader urged the Food and Civil Supply Minister James Sangma and also Chie Minister Conrad Sangma to expedite the matter and give relief immediately without any further delay.
He also asked the government to avoid all complications and distribute the relief through VECs.
