Cement plants donate Rs 1 cr to PM Fund

JOWAI: Two cement plants operating in East Jaintia Hills – Star Cement Limited and the Bharati Dalmia Cement Limited – have jointly contributed Rs 1 crore to the PM CARES fund and Rs 25 lakh each toward the relief funds of Assam and West Bengal chief ministers.
Meanwhile, in consultation with the headmen, church leaders and also with the Member of Parliament (MP) Vincent H Pala, the cement plants also donated rice for distribution in Jowai, Shillong and Nongstoin. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet thanked both the companies for their contribution.
