Businessman denies employing Assam workers

SHILLONG: Local exporter Batyngshain Ryngnga has refuted allegations of Khasi Students Union (KSU) Shella Unit that the detained migrant labourers were working under him.
In a statement issued here, Ryngnga said he is being falsely framed. He said that the labourers were not working under him and has no idea that they were staying in a forested area.
Ryngnga said that an ASHA worker, Nelibon Rapmai, requested him for a vehicle to ferry 15 truck drivers to PHC Disong who were stranded after the lockdown.
It may be mentioned that the KSU Shella unit on Thursday apprehended illegal migrants at Disong, Shella, mostly hailING from Assam and WHO do not possess any IDs.
