Two COVID-19 patients released from Assam hospital, 29 still under treatment

GUWAHATI: Assam released two of the three COVID-19 patients who were under treatment in Sonapur coronavirus care hospital near hear after they had tested negative during tests conducted on during April 13, 14 as per the prescribe protocol.

“We have released two COVID-19 patients, Janab Ali (46) and Nuruddin Ali (55) from Sonapur hospital after tests conducted on their samples on April 13, and 14 gave negative results. They will now stay under observation in Jagiroad Paper Mill guesthouse for the next 14 days before they are allowed to go home,” Assam Health Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma told media on Wednesday evening.

The rest 29 COVID-19 patients are still under treatment in various coronavirus care hospitals in the state. One of the patients died on Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

The Health Minister further informed that three more COVID-19 patients might be released from Goalpara hospital on Thursday. He said most of the COVID-9 patients under treatment were doing well in the state.
