44 people from SWKH visited Bethany Hospital after March 22

Mawkyrwat: With government’s initiative for contact tracing after a city based doctor was tested positive for coronavirus in the state, 44 people from South West Khasi Hills district have visited Bethany Hospital, Shillong after March 22.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills, Isawanda Laloo on Wednesday informed that till now there are 44 people from the district who have visited the hospital. However, this number does not include those who accompanied them like drivers, family members besides others as they are more.
The DC also said that all those persons and family members who have reported to the control room from April 13 onwards with history of consultation or visit to Bethany Hospital, Shillong are directed to remain in strict home quarantine.
“Field teams and medical teams will be closely monitoring adherence to guidelines,” Laloo said.
Laloo also directed that any person in quarantine displaying symptoms such as cough, fever and difficulty in breathing should immediately call the District Control Room.
“All such cases upon advice by the Medical Officer will be transported through a dedicated ambulance facility to the Corona Care Centre, Laitlawsang and anyone with such symptoms should refrain from visiting PHCs or CHCs,” Laloo said.
Laloo also said emergency services at all PHCs and CHCs will continue to be available and referrals from any PHCs or CHCs to Shillong in designated ambulance will continue to be permitted.
The DC said that any person requiring inter district travel for any other medical emergency needs a curfew pass which can be applied online.
If unable to apply online, they can intimate the Sector Officer of the village concerned directly or through the Myntri Shnong.
Curfew extended
Meanwhile in order to put in place more preventive and mitigation measures to identify and take more stringent steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to the district, the DC also extended the curfew in the whole district with immediate effect until 6 am of April 19.
