Cops asked to show restraint during lockdown

SHILLONG: The state police department on Wednesday advised its personnel deployed on the ground to show restraint and avoid strict measures like baton charge while enforcing the curfew and lockdown directives.
The move comes after a video clip, showing a policeman hitting an individual with baton, went viral on social media on Tuesday.
The department also informed that it has initiated action against the errant policeman.
