Curfew violators held in state

Shillong: With the ongoing lockdown and curfew imposed in the state, there are some who are not willing to stay home and have violated the order.
On April 13 at about 4.50 pm, police arrested two persons identified as Jubaraj Rabha (32 yrs) and Lamjingshai Kharkongor (28 yrs), for selling vegetables at Madan Laban, Shillong, in violation of curfew imposed by the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills.
In West Garo Hills, police detected two Bolero pick-up vehicles (1) ML-08F-9092 and (2) ML-08B-7664 on April 12 driven by Johanur Islam and Nozidur Islam, respectively, while transporting areca nut at Bamondanga village, West Garo Hills (WGH), in violation of Sec. 144 CrPC imposed by District Magistrate, West Garo Hills.
On the same day in East Jaintia Hills, police detected one Scorpio (ML-11-7774) plying during lockdown period at Lad-Sutnga, East Jaintia Hills (EJH). However, the driver managed to escape.
On April 8, TR Marak, Executive Magistrate, West Garo Hills lodged a complaint that Abdul Rahim Sheikh went to Tura (WGH) from Lalmati village, on the pretext for antenatal care for his wife, in violation of Sec. 144 CrPC imposed by District Magistrate, West Garo Hills.
